KBShimmer Multi Chrome Collection Swatches and Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have one of the most beautiful collections I've had the pleasure of playing with in awhile - the KBShimmer Multi Chrome collection, which was provided by Color4Nails for me to review.  I'm sure a lot of you have already seen swatches of this collection but that's the joy of these multi chromes - they shift so much that more swatches just give you a different perspective.

The Digit-al Dozen does Birthdays - May 2017

Hey there!  I know I'm late with today's post but better late than never, right?  I just didn't have words in me today.  BUT since May was Cheyenne's birthday month, I certainly couldn't let the day go by without getting my May birthday mani up.  My freehand attempt to recreate the glowing flower picture she chose as inspiration didn't really live up to expectations but hopefully she'll understand.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Lilac, Pink & Gold

Hey there!  Oops, I'm a day late for this week's instalment of 26 Great Nail Art Ideas.  I hope you forgive me!  This week our theme was Lilac, Pink & Gold - doesn't that sound like a lovely combination to you?  I knew I wanted to do a gradient with some stamping so I decided to try out Lina Nail Art Supplies blank image for my gradient from Make Your Mark 03.  It's not perfect but it makes such a fast gradient!

UberChic Beauty Farm Fresh & Graduation Mini Plate Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have a review of UberChic Beauty's newest mini plates - Farm Fresh and Graduation.  I grew up in the country and, while I wasn't from a farming family myself, I was surrounded by farms so my best friends were all farmers.  I spent many an hour sitting on tractors with my guy friends in high school while they were plowing fields and doing other farmer stuff that I never understood.  Nowadays, I'm in the city but I still buy from farmers markets (the food just tastes so much better) so I guess I still have a farm connection.  As for the graduations, it's been many a year since I graduated (I finished my PhD in 2007) but since I was in school for so darn long, I love to hear about other people also finishing school.  I wish I could've had something like these on my nails for my graduations!

Madam Glam Swatches & Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Yup, I'm back for a second post today.  Originally I was planning to post this Madam Glam review this morning but then got distracted by the powder/flakies sale.  So lucky you guys, you get double the amount of me today, haha!  Traditionally I haven't used much gel polish but since I'm really loving the powders that are available nowadays so I've been using gel more and more.  If you read any of those posts of mine, you'll see that I almost exclusively use Madam Glam Perfect Black.  To add to my Madam Glam collection I have a few polishes to share today.  There's three lovely gel cremes, a magnetic polish and one of the new crackle-style toppers.  If you thought crackles were dead, sorry but you were mistaken.  This topper is so awesome that I put it over all three of the cremes and got different looks every time!  And my readers can get 30% off with the code Claw30 so use that to save a few dollars.

Whats Up Nails Fairy Powder and Holographic Flakies

Press  Sample

Hey there!  As I was scrolling through Instagram last night before bed I saw that Whats Up Nails currently has a sale on their flakies and powders with the code HOT25.  Since I've found their flakies and powders to be of very high quality compared to the less expensive counterparts from overseas, I thought I should write up review of the last couple I've been able to try - the Fairy Powder and the Holographic Flakies.  If you'd like to get these products at their sale price, you have to act quick.  The sale ends tonight so really you only have about 12 hours to get the sale price.  But honestly, they're worth it at full price too.  I'm a big fan!

KBShimmer All The Bright Moves Collection

Press  Sample

Hey there!  How's everyone doing today?  I'm back from a beautiful long weekend spent at the cabin so I'm happy as can be.  Unfortunately my 6 year old niece has officially learned that I can't seem to say no if she asks me to play frisbee with her (gotta start the next generation of ultimate players young) and I now have a hand of entirely broken nails.  So looks like I'll be headed to Indie Expo in Toronto with at least one hand of shortie nails.  However, I did get to swatch these awesome new KBShimmer neon last week, before the breaks.  KBShimmer always makes my favourite cremes so I was stoked to try these from Color4Nails.  Neons can sometimes have finicky formulas but these were creamy and opaque - no need for undies here!  I had so much fun swatching them that I even did a couple nail art looks too.  Hope you like them as much as I do.

The Digit-al Dozen does Rainforest/Nail Crazies Unite does Delicate Print

Hey there!  Today is the 3-for-1 post that I mentioned yesterday.  I love trying to challenge myself to combine themes for the various groups I'm in and for today's mani I've combined three different prompts.  We have the final Digit-al Dozen Rainforest mani along with the Nail Crazies Unite's Delicate Print theme and the Nail Challenge Collaborative May theme of Green.  Hopefully everyone else thinks I've managed to combine the three at least half decently!

The Digit-al Dozen does Rainforest - Panda Nails

Hey there!  So when I was thinking up rainforest nail ideas for this month's Digit-al Dozen theme I thought that there must be rainforests all over the world that we don't think about as such.  Which somehow made me think of pandas which do indeed live in rainforests - rainforests with lots of bamboo to help them get all rolly polly and adorable.  And, since there's so much green in this mani it's also my first Nail Challenge Collaborative mani for this month since the May theme is just Green (which works very well with the rainforest theme).

The Digit-al Dozen does Rainforest - Lizard Nails

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today's Digit-al Dozen Rainforest-themed mani is easily my favourite one this week.  And I did these soooooo long ago and have just been waiting to share them for this theme.  I've been reviewing Whats Up Nails products lately and included in my first package of items were these adorable lizard stencils.  Having just watched Planet Earth, I knew that there were some darn cute lizards hanging out in the rainforest and and figured they could go along great with this month's theme.  And I used a couple of Magic Shifting Powders to make them into magical lizards!

The Digit-al Dozen does Rainforest - Tropical Flowers

Hey there!  For the second day of The Digit-al Dozen's Rainforest week, I have a mani that ended up looking like a tacky Hawaiian shirt...and I loved it.  I don't think I'd ever be gutsy enough to actually wear a bold shirt like that but I have no problems wearing something this loud on my nails!

The Digit-al Dozen does Rainforest - Tropical Birds

Hey there!  This week is a brand new Digit-al Dozen week - always the most fun week of the month.  For May we have a Rainforest theme which was great timing because when I was ready to tackle these manis I had just watched Planet Earth II.  There wasn't a rainforest episode but there was a jungle episode which is pretty much the same thing, right?  When I did these I was also in the middle of swatching the KBShimmer Nauti by Nature collection courtesy of Color4Nails (previously reviewed here) and I thought they paired up perfectly with the theme so I used all the holographics from the collection for this design.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Yellow and Bold

Hey there!  This week's 26 Great Nail Art Ideas theme is "yellow plus one bold color".  My first thought with that was "isn't yellow a bold enough color itself?".  Maybe not all yellows are super bold but the one I picked sure is.  I don't usually like yellow nails but it gave me an excuse to use one of my newest KBShimmer cremes, Chick Me Out, and pair it with an old fave and I ended up really liking this fun design.

UberChic Beauty Collection 17 Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Last week I showed you a few things I did with UberChic Beauty's 16th collection of stamping plates and today I have Collection 17.  I've been a fan of UberChic from the beginning.  This collection certainly doesn't do anything to dissuade me.  It keeps up with Brittany's style and creativity which I love.  I wore these looks last week and really enjoyed them.  Some of them were simple but still lovely - gotta love something that's quick but still looks good, amirite or what?!

Whats Up Nails Floral Designs

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Since spring is finally in full swing around these parts, I figured today would be a great day to post some floral nail designs I've worn recently, all with the help of more Whats Up Nails products.  I've had a few reviews for them lately and I truly have nothing but good things to say about them.  An easy to use website, great communication and, most importantly, quality product. I was originally contacted to try out a few of their stamping plates. Last week I showed how I used their water marble plate (you can see that here) and today I have two new floral plates, A005 and B018.  But while I was posting flowers, I thought I'd also show a couple of flower stencils that they have, the Hibiscus and Bloom Stencils.

Hey there!  I have a quick Saturday post today to share another cool product I received from Whats Up Nails.  This is the Disco Confetti.  It really is a party in a little jar so I think the name is pretty fitting.

Nail Crazies Unite - Watercolor

Hey there!  Well it's Friday night and what am I doing?  Blogging, of course!  Actually I'm watching the Oilers hockey game and getting so stressed out!  But it's intermission so I thought now would be a good time to do my Nail Crazies Unite post that I should've done earlier today.  This week our theme is watercolor.  I was sooooooo tempted to just say that the Moonflower Polish unicorn mani that I posted earlier today was my watercolor mani but I would've been lying.  I did today's design just for today's prompt so I definitely wanted to use it.

Moonflower Polish Spring 2017 Review (partial)

Press  Sample

Hey there!  As a stamping addict, I love when brands made polishes designed for stamping.  And when those polishes can double as a regular polish, even better!  Well that's the case with the relatively new brand, Moonflower Polish.  Nadia was a nail blogger who is releasing her second collection of stamping polish today.  I reviewed the original Rainbow Cremes collection and while it's fabulous and made up of all the primary colors, I am a girl who loves a good pastel, especially in the form of a stamping polish that works over dark colors.  That is what the Spring 2017 collection is.  I received half of the collection to review.  I tested them out over black and white and even used them as a base for some whimsical stamping.  Let's get to it!

UberChic Beauty Collection 16 Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  As I promised last week, today I have my review of UberChic Beauty's Collection 16.  As always, I have nothing but good things to say about this set of 3 new plates.  Brittany has once again come up with a creative, eclectic collection.  There's florals, negative space, layered, geometric images and more.  Over the last week or so, I've done 6 looks with this collection that I'm sharing today.  Hope you like them!

Whats Up Nails Paradise Powder and Water Marble Stamping Plate

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I hope everybody had a great weekend.  Did anybody go to Polish Con?  I saw some photos and it looked amazing!  Personally, I was at home watching my niece's dance competition which was pretty darn adorable.  And, of course, I managed to fit some nail stuff in as well.  The items I'm sharing today were used a few weeks ago and looking at the pics is making me want magical shifting nails again!  I was sent the Paradise powder from Whats Up Nails to review, as well as the B002 Water Marble To Perfection stamping plate.  Well, the product names are absolutely fitting.  The powder really did create paradise on my nails and the plate is perfect for anyone that wants a water marble look without all the mess.  Keep reading to hear even more of my thoughts...
